Another 40 bln roubles to be attracted into the Bystrinsky project in 2016

“Norilsk Nickel” has invested 40 billion roubles since the start of construction

In 2016, GMK “Norilsk Nickel” invests 40 billion roubles to the Bystrinsky project, company’s vice-president E.Bezdenezhnykh stated within the frame of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). The means will also be obtained in terms of credits, for instance in Sberbank Russia, Vedomosti reports. They also plan to distribute funds from the sale of a share in the project to Chinese investors.

It became known in July that “Norilsk Nickel” sold 10.67% in the Bystrinsky project to Chinese Highland Fund, which also plans to take part under the terms of an industrial partner with further receipt of the product. What is more, in April Sberbank CIB opened a credit line at $800 million for a period of 8 years for the financing of construction of the Bystrinsky GOK. As E.Bezdenezhnykh stated in her speech, the company had invested over 40 billion roubles to date, and planned to attract another 40 billion roubles before the end of the year.

The project is valued at more than $1 billion. The project will be put into operation in Q4, 2017. The capacity of the processing plant of the Bystrinsky GOK will make up 10 million tons of ore a year, while the productivity will make up 66 thousand tons of copper concentrate, 3.1 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 219 thousand ounces of gold in concentrate. The operating life will make up over 30 years.

There constructed ore stockpile, primary crushing building, main processing building, drying and dehydration station at the site. There also ready an infrastructure – railroad and motorway. There will be three own stations. The head of Transbaikal region N.Zhdanova visited the production site of the deposit on September 6, 2016.
