Norilsk Nickel may increase the debt burden

Today, the Board of Directors of Norilsk Nickel will discuss the question on an attraction of revolving syndicated loan at up to $500 million.

In late August, the head of the company’s block for economy and finance S.Malyshev said that the company planned to attract confirmed credit line from a syndicate of western banks, which will support the previously attracted credit lines at not less than $2 billion.

“We plan to announce the deal in autumn with a view to maintain confirmed credit lines of $2 billion,” he said.

In January, Norilsk Nickel signed an agreement on attraction of syndicated loan of Chinese banks in the form of revolving credit line, totaling 4.8 billion yuans ($730 mln) for a period of 5 years.

Trends and prospects of development of the domestic copper industry will be discussed at the 5th All-Russian conference “Copper, brass, bronze: trends of production and consumption”, which will take place on October 6-7 in Moscow.
