In Q4, UC Rusal increased aluminum production by 1%, sales - by 6%

In the fourth quarter of 2016, the Russian aluminum producer UC Rusal increased its aluminum production compared with October - December 2015 by 1% to 930 thousand tons. The aluminum sales in this period decreased compared to the third quarter by 6% to 922 thousand tons, the company reports.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, the sales price of aluminum grew by 2.6% quarter on quarter to $1.8 thousand per ton.

In 2016, the production of aluminum increased compared to the same period of the previous year by 1.1% to 3.69 million tons. The aluminum sales grew by 4.9% to 3.82 million tons. The sale price fell by 13.4% to $1.7 thousand per ton.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, the bauxite mining decreased by 11.5% quarter on quarter to 2.8 million tons, from the beginning of year, the production of bauxite grew by 0.6% to 12.19 million tons. In the fourth quarter, the development of alumina increased by 4% to 1.94 million tons, and from the beginning of the year - by 1.7% to 7.53 million tons.
