Raspadskaya increased coal production in Q4, 2016

Revival of market in late 2016 had a good impact on operational indictors of coal company of Evraz

The enterprises of PJSC “Raspadskaya” increased rough coal production by 32% up to 3.189 million tons in Q4, 2016. The annual production in 2016 increased by 2% year-on-year and made up 10.512 million tons.

They stated in the company that the weighted average price of coal concentrate (FCA Mezhdurechensk) increased by 104% to 6359 roubles per a ton in Q4, 2016, while average annual prices of coal rose by 35% to 3890 roubles per a ton.

Average weighted price of coal concentrate sale increased both in the domestic market and on export routes amidst the growth of world prices for coking coal.

CEO of Raspadskaya S.Stepanov said that the results of 2016 were successful for the company.

“Raspadskaya mine managed to exceed its last year production record by 3% (among mines in Russia) and reach 5.6 million tons. Raspadskaya open-pit mine has increased production by 25% year-on-year and reached 4.4 million tons. It shows not only the high potential of our assets, but also considerable flexibility in managing production volumes. It is important in the conditions of unstable market,” S.Stepanov said.

PJSC “Raspadskaya” comprises a group of companies of the unified regional-production complex in the Kemerovo region of the Russian Federation: three mines, one open-pit mine, processing plant, as well as the enterprises of transportation and production infrastructure. It is part of a vertically integrated metallurgical and mining company Evraz.
